Quantax's COVID-19 Response
Here is our client letter regarding our COVID-19 response sent out on Monday, March 16th 2020:
Dear Clients,
I wanted to start by saying all of us at Quantax and their families are doing fine and hope that yours are
too. As so many people have said, these are unprecedented times. We wanted to let our clients know
the measures we are taking to keep our staff and clients safe, while still preparing and electronically
filing returns.
We do have an advantage because we have been working remotely with clients for almost 10 years.
We’ve been able to work with our clients wherever their lives took them through our secure on-line
portal and telecons. Many clients have been scanning and uploading their documents to us and we’ve
been delivering electronic copies of tax returns to them. We’ve been scheduling telecons to discuss
client specific tax situations, answering client questions, and reviewing return results. We will continue
doing this. What we are changing is the elimination of in-office appointments. For the duration of tax
season, we will not meet in person. We are encouraging everyone to utilize the portal as much as
possible. If you must drop off or pick up documents Monday - Friday between 8 am – 5 pm, you still can
do that. Our building is open 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday and Saturday 9 am to 3 pm. If your
documents are less than one inch thick, they can be slid under our suite door (Suite 325 and there is our
Quantax nameplate on the wall). Alternatively, you can mail, FedEx, or UPS your documents to us.
Since I’ve been working on my MBA, I have been using Zoom for video conferencing. Consequently, that
is also an option if you have a camera, mic, and Zoom software installed on your computer.
Another thing that was already in place prior to the outbreak is we stopped accepted new clients as of
January 1st. That is reassuring that we have already prioritized our existing clients.
A lot of the other businesses in the building have moved to working from home, so they have relieved
the burden on the building. We are fortunate to have a large office and can spread out staff in separate
offices and eliminate migration to other computers and workspaces.
Currently, there is talk of the IRS extending the filing and tax payment deadline. The Federal
government has not passed any legislation regarding this and has not made any official announcements.
The state of California has already taken proactive steps and has passed legislation extending the
deadline to June 15th for people effected by Covid-19. Here’s the link for the press release

taxpayers-affected-by-the-covid-19-pandemic.html
When the need arises, we will modify our work environment and schedules further. For now, we will
continue working with clients to file their tax returns. The best way to communicate is via email with
Heather, Hirako, or myself. Please continue working with whoever has been working with you to
maintain continuity. Please watch our website because we will post updates there and we will have
automatic email responses set up.
We hope that everyone’s family continues to be well. It’s encouraging to see the community coming
together in unexpected ways.
Wishing you well,
Lisa
